چکیده

Acetic acid (AA) is considered an inhibitor in the oil palm frond (OPF) biomass hydrolysate solution. It can reduce microorganism activity during sugar fermentation using OPF In current study, a hollow fiber supported liquid membrane (HFSLM) system hybrid polyethersulfone-graphene support and organic phase of 0.5 M tri-n-octyl amine carrier 2-ethyl-1-hexanol diluent was used to remove AA. The impregnation time flow operation modes feed strip phases HFSLM configuration were investigated. Mode I operated with inside (HF) lumen stripping at shell side. mode II, entered side HF support. best 4 hours, exhibiting highest AA removal efficiency 80% compared 1 24 hours time. 80.1% 42.4% respectively, 8 (SLM) running applied from real hydrolysate. found that concentration had reduced 6.83 2.01 g/L after SLM process. process did not affect other components, especially compounds

Effect of Ethylene Glycol as Pore Former on Polyphenylsulfone Hollow Fiber Membrane for Crude Palm Oil Deacidification through Membrane Contactor

In this study, polyphenylsulfone (PPSU) hollow fiber membrane was fabricated via a wet spinning method with the addition of ethylene glycol (EG) in the range of 0-10 wt% as the additive. The EG was added to improve the membrane pore formation and interconnectivity for better membrane contactor performance in extracting and removing the free fatty acid (FFA) from crude palm oil (CPO). Four diffe...

Recovery of acetic acid by supported liquid membrane using vegetable oils as liquid membrane

An attempt has been made to recover acetic acid from aqueous solutions using supported liquid membrane (SLM) technique. A flat sheet polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE) supported membrane impregnated with vegetable oils was tested for transport of acetic acid. The permeation of acetic acid was studied by varying the experimental conditions namely strength of stripping phase, stirring speed and selec...

Enantioseparation of Racemic α-Cyclohexyl-Mandelic Acid across Hollow Fiber Supported Liquid Membrane

Mathematical Modeling and Numerical Simulation of CO2 Removal by Using Hollow Fiber Membrane Contactors

Abstract In this study, a mathematical model is proposed for CO2 separation from N2/CO2 mixtureusing a hollow fiber membrane contactor by various absorbents. The contactor assumed as non-wetted membrane; radial and axial diffusions were also considered in the model development. The governing equations of the model are solved via the finite...

Racemic -cyclohexyl-mandelic Acid Resolution across Hollow Fiber Supported Liquid Membrane

This paper deals with the resolution of racemic -cyclohexyl-mandelic acid containing copper(II) N-dodecyl-(L)-hydroxyproline (CuN2) as a chiral carrier across hollow fiber supported liquid membrane. A mathematical model of transport and resolution of chiral compounds was deduced, the observed partition coefficient between the feed phase and the membrane phase, the stripping phase and the membra...
